Keywords such as “environment” cannot be ignored when discussing Telmont. The slogan “In the name of Mother Nature” is the benchmark for all the activities of the house. “A good wine is a gift from nature,” and therefore the land where the grapes grow should be protected. This philosophy of Telmont continues to this day, and its activities are attracting attention from all over the world.

02.

In fact, only 4% of vineyards in the Champagne region are currently certified organic. Telmont has set a goal of converting all of its vineyards to 100% organic farming by 2025, with approximately 83% of its vineyards to be certified organic by 2022. The company still strives to cultivate its grapes thoroughly free of herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers, and will continue to pursue more natural farming methods in the years to come.

03.

Telmont is also a house that still follows traditional methods and is famous for making Champagne that makes the most of the bounty of the land where the grapes grow. The grapes are hand-picked, and only the best grapes are selected by 120,000 people during the harvest. As the saying goes, “wine comes from the grapes,” and it is the great grapes that ensure the quality of Telmont.

04.

“The people” behind Telmont are also a source of pride for the house. The first person you should know is Bertrand Lhopital, the cellar master of Telmont. He is a member of Telmont’s founding family and took over the Cellar Master position from his father in 1999. The image of a cellar master may be that of a man holed up in the winery, but Bertrand Lhopital goes to the vineyards himself to constantly check on the condition of the grapes and other aspects of the wine.

The cuvée we are offering in plans that include Champagne is the “Réserve Brut”. It is the standard cuvée that symbolizes Telmont, and is an exquisite bottle created as a tribute to Champagne. It is made from organic cultivation and delicate vinification, and its style is full of freshness and ripe fruitiness brought about by its sharp acidity. We invite you to enjoy the world of Telmont with a glass of “Reserve Brut”.
