Know the Maison

01.

TAITTINGER is a family-owned house that has been owned by the TAITTINGER family since its founding. While many major Champagne houses are being successively acquired by large corporations, TAITTINGER’s continued ownership by the same family is truly a ‘miracle’.

02.

The Crayères, located 18 meters underground beneath Saint-Nicaise Hill in Reims, boast a history of over 1800 years. Currently, TAITTINGER ages its top cuvée, ‘Comtes de Champagne’, and other wines in this location. (This site is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site as ‘Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars’.)

Incidentally, TAITTINGER’s top cuvée, ‘Comtes de Champagne’, derives its name from this ‘Count of Champagne’. Through these historical buildings and more, TAITTINGER continues to faithfully uphold the mission it has inherited since ancient times.

04.

In ‘Champagne par TAITTINGER’, published in 1996, the then-head of the house, Claude TAITTINGER, stated, ‘Our goal is to create a Champagne that is unique in the world.’ For TAITTINGER, blending is truly an ‘artistic process’. Perhaps the secret to TAITTINGER creating Champagne with a taste described as unique in the world lies in its unwavering spirit of craftsmanship.

05.

The cuvée offered with the ‘Champagne Plan’ is TAITTINGER’s top cuvée, ‘Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2007’. It is known as the maison’s masterpiece, referred to as the ‘jewel of TAITTINGER’ and meaning ‘Count of Champagne’, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes from exceptional vintages that have achieved extraordinary quality. We invite you to re-experience the history woven by TAITTINGER during your stay at our hotel.
