Nicolas Fiat is a young Champagne house with a winemaking facility in the Grand Cru of Chouilly, and has been ranked No. 1 in France in terms of sales volume in just over 30 years since its establishment in 1976. Nicolas Fiat’s success was not only due to the “quality of his Champagnes”. Born in Paris to a family of prominent wine and spirits importers, Nicolas Fiat was known as a bold businessman. During his successful coffee business in the U.S., he made many VIP contacts, which is said to have led Nicolas Fiat to success.

Nicolas Fiat owns 340 pressing stations, where grapes can be transported to the vinification facility immediately after harvest, allowing for the pressing of healthy, unoxidized grapes. The company has invested heavily in maintaining consistent quality with tanks with a capacity of up to 304,000 hectoliters, a bottling capacity of 20,000 bottles per hour, and 480 gyropalettes, a specialized system for moving bottles. In 2007, the company acquired ISO 22000 certification for its food safety risk management system, making it the fastest in Champagne to acquire this certification.

The cellar masters have controlled the quality of Nicolas Fiat since its inception. Based on the “unique terroir, 3,000 hectares of vineyards, and selected high quality grapes,” the cellar masters’ creativity and mastery of the art of winemaking allows them to create an assemblage of the year’s clear harvests and vast reserves of wine.

The cuvée for the “Plan with Champagne” is “Palme d’Or Brut 2008”. This vintage Champagne is made from only the best grapes harvested and carefully selected in the best vintage, and is considered Nicolas Fiat’s masterpiece. The blend of the “Palme d’Or” is made exclusively by the cellar master, and it is the longest aged Champagne in the house at 10 years.
