Architect Shinichi Ogawa
Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1955. Graduated from Nihon University College of Art. Exchange student at Washington State University’s Department of Architecture. Ministry of Cultural Affairs Overseas Training Artist in New York. Worked at Paul Rudolph’s office and Arquitectonica (New York). Exhibited as one of 16 architects representing Japan at the 19th Milan Triennale Japan Pavilion, UIA (International Union of Architects World Congress) Barcelona ’96, and the Architecture Exhibition at ‘JAPAN YEAR 2001′ held in London in 2001. Has held exhibitions in various countries including New York, London, Milan, Rotterdam, Glasgow, and Hong Kong. Featured in the British magazine ’10×10’ (100 architects of the world) and the domestic magazine ‘AERA 100 Japanese Designers’. In 2007, built ‘World of Calvin Klein with Shinichi Ogawa – The HOUSE’, a collaboration project between fashion and architecture by Calvin Klein Inc. of the United States. In 2014, exhibited as one of 10 architects representing Japan at the ‘Spain Japan Year 2014’ Japanese Architects Exhibition held in Barcelona. Has won numerous domestic and international design awards and competitions.
